Summertime blues

The kids have remembered some of our activities from last summer so fondly they've begged to repeat them this year. They couldn't wait for my parents to take them to the ice cream shop so they could struggle to keep up with that shockingly blue ice cream as it melted and dripped down their arms.

Ahh...summer in Texas.

Wow, that was even more melty than I could've imagined. Does that flavor has a name or is it just "Blue"?

Thinking about making some homemade ice cream this weekend. :)

You are WAY more laid back of a Mom than I. LOL I must admit, I'd NEVER let my kids eat something THAT blue that I knew would run all over them that way.

ezeldabeth,
I did request they put a small scoop on the cone, but I never seem to find shops with tiny cones. Your cozies would have come in handy as my son ate half the napkin wrapped around his!
Amy,
I think it was called Disco Lives. Who knows what was in it. I like their Almond Joy ice cream.
Jennifer,
I think we all have our different areas to be laid back in, don't you think? I knew I had wipes handy and a bathroom on site for washing. Wasn't too worried about the clothes. I'm sure I'm uptight in many other ways!

I'm amazed that the blue washed out!
I'd totally be the Mom wiping their arms every 10 seconds - stain-obsessed me! LOL

we have an amazing shop around here, that gives away kid cones for free (with little candy eyes)...but they are so tiny, think silver dollar sphere'd...soon i will have to let my 5 year old have a full size - but they put like 3 scoops on a single!?!?!?!

i never understand how they can just eat the napkin without a second thought...i put 3 diner fries to go in a napkin the other night...and i swear she ate more napkin than fries!

i am trying to be less ...excitable... about messy kids... sometimes it is so hard to let go and just enjoy the moment.
