Nice wheels

Since we're still knee deep in our crafting lull around here, I thought I'd share a vintage goody. I didn't count these as part of my truck collection (I've since run across others in our home, too, that I neglected to include), but these seem to be in a class of their own. These 1950s-ish tin cars are about the size of a Hot Wheels car. I have a cement mixer (minus its barrel), a taxi, a logging truck, and a family car. Sadly, my family never had a hot pink car sporting the image of a bird and rabbit riding an ostrich.

My family DID have a pink car (a 1955 Dodge)! But the top was white and didn't have any of the images on it. :-) I'll never forget taking my driver's test in that ol' tank. The steering wheel was about 2 feet in diameter, and no power steering, of course. But I passed! Barely. ;-)

Now that I think about it, my favorite car from my childhood was a '57 Chevy (or maybe it was '56), which was.....pink! Not a pale pink, but almost a mauve. It was Granny's, which means I rode in it a lot! We'll have to see if she has any photos of it.
