Rainy day with shaving cream

We couldn't get out this afternoon like I had planned (I really should check the forecast now and then), so we pulled out a can of shaving cream and smeared (I mean painted) it all over the table. I added just a little bit of washable paint (I was afraid food coloring would stain my table or require extra effort to clean up), some brushes, toy cars, old socks and it kept the kids entertained for about as long as I needed it to. Thank goodness that, at one point in time, I actually read some blogs of other creative moms and stored away some easy ideas. Sometimes you just can't (or won't) get to your books, you know?

Pudding is fun to smear around too! Oh and it is also tasty.

I typically give the kids shaving cream to paint the shower walls, makes clean up easily. Looks like they had lots of fun.

I love the cars and the tracks they make. We've only used our fingers, I love the idea of bringing in objects. And your aprons are a great idea too!
